Why no post lately?

No good excuse really.  Just been super busy!  Justin got home from his work trip, karate, flag football, soccer, golf camp, youth group, and life kept us moving!
Last Friday after school let out we went bowling.  The bowling alley on post offers a free game for every 'A' on your report card.  Caroline made straight A's so we bowled for free!!  It's sad to say that I had the lowest score, a 53!  I might be good at other sports, but bowling it just NOT my thing.  I may need bumpers!
Will finally earned his first belt!
The boys aren't on the same team or even playing the same sport, but they randomly ended up with the same number!  And they thought it was the coolest thing ever!  They asked me to take a picture of them like this.

Last weekend we drove to Fort Riley to go to a birthday party.  The LeBlancs were our neighbors when Will was born!
Miles jumped up in the laz-y-boy with me.  He must have needed some extra cuddles.  If you know Miles you know that he always needs extra cuddles and can't get enough loving!  We are also getting a new puppy sometime in Feb/March and have been telling Miles all the things he's going to need to teach the new dog!  I hope it works.  When asked what we want in a puppy we always respond, one that doesn't bark.  We don't care if it's a girl or boy, more golden, red, or white.  Just that it doesn't bark!
I came downstairs after brushing Eric's teeth and found these 2 eating the leftover mac and cheese out of the pots!  Like father, like son.
And Eric has his very first loose tooth!!  The front left tooth is looking a little snaggle-y and should fall out soon as much as he messes with it!  He couldn't be more excited.

KU Women's Soccer

Sunday morning we made it to early church that started at 8:30, then Sunday School, home to change, and then off to Lawrence for the soccer game.
Will loves when the Jayhawk is there and to get so close and even give him a high five made his day!

The kids enjoyed themselves.  3 smiling faces!
After the double-overtime game they had the opportunity to go out on the field for a mini-clinic with the players and then get their autographs.
The kids had a BLAST and loved every minute of it!

It was an absolutely wonderful way to spend a fall afternoon!

Karate and Pumpkins

Friday night Eric was promoted (or whatever it's called) to a white belt!  He was so very excited and did great.  He has great focus in class and is doing really well.
He's one of the taller ones and is in a 5 and 6 year old class.
I sent Caroline out to put his belt on him so I could take pictures.  She had a little trouble so the mom next to her helped!!
Then Saturday morning we headed out to a local pumpkin patch.  This year I was trying hard to not wait until the last minute to pick out pumpkins so we would actually have some.  It was a beautiful fall morning, a little on the cool side, and when I told the kids to wear pants there was quite the push back!  Hawaii habits are hard to break.

I love this picture of my 3 pumpkins!!
I was not very impressed with the place.  We had to traspe through weeds almost as tall as me to search for the pumpkins.  The kids though it was fun so that's what counts.

Then we went through a corn maze.  We didn't get too lost!
 It was a charming place.
Will is now heavier than Caroline!
Eric spent about 30 minutes digging in the sand!
Each buggy thing had a pedal missing and one had a flat tire.  The kids tried to make it work.
We came home with 3 big pumpkins!  Will's was 20 pounds!

Weston Apple fest

After dropping Justin off at the airport Saturday morning, the kids and I went to the apple festival in nearby Weston.  Weston is a little town just on the other side of the Missouri River from us.  The kids loved the parade (and all the candy they were throwing at us!).
The parade was very enjoyable and had lots of old vehicles and tractors.
There was quite a crowd for a town of about 1200!
Will got to practice his rag rug making.
We met up with friends and they all enjoyed playing in the hay bale maze.
Then Sunday late afternoon we went to a local cider mill to pick what was left of the apples.  I took our 2 neighbor kids and 5 kids can pick some apples pretty quick!

We missed having Justin around but had a great fall, fun weekend!!
