Rolling right along

Eric taught himself to roll yesterday and thanks to Will I caught the very first one!
(so apparently when I tried to upload the video from my phone to blogger it didn't work)

!

This morning is the first morning all week that Eric hasn't woken up with a fever!!  He has been fighting a cough, runny, stuff nose and fever all week.  He still has his cold but at least for right now no fever.  But that hasn't slowed him down much at all, just made him clingy and cranky!
The weather this week has been very un-Michigan like (thank goodness!) and we have been enjoying playing outside for the majority of the day.
Last Sunday before church the kids found the basket of eggs I bought to hang on our front tree.

The axel didn't break but this car has seen better days!

Eric loves to swing like a big boy.

Why stand beside the sandbox when you can climb in it!  This sand box is a huge attraction for the neighborhood kids and I will find 4 or 5 of them all playing in it in the afternoons.
Last Saturday Justin and I made toy boxes for the kids and then this week during nap time I have been trying to get them painted.  Eric has taken really short naps this week and I took a nap one day too so they aren't finished, yet!  Maybe I'll get time this weekend to get them finished and post pictures.
Next week it's back to Michigan March temps with the high on Monday expected to be in the low 40's.  Hopefully it won't last long and we can get back to the 70's quickly!

St Patrick's day

When I saw Caroline's outfit this morning I told her she needed to wear something green. So she reached over and grabbed the green basket thing and put it on her head!!
Notice the lovely outfit! Socks, pink polka dots, orange skirt, loud sweatshirt, and green hat!!

Happy st. Patrick's day every one!

Pirates and Faries

One day when we were are Magic Kingdom the kids got the opportunity to get made up like a pirate or a princess.  Caroline chose Tinker Bell and Will chose a Jack Sparrow look (not Justin!)  Will went next to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to get his make-up done and Caroline got to have hers done at the Bibbity Bobbity boutique ( in Cinderella's castle!!)  They both LOVED the experience and had so much fun.
The longest time we spent waiting in line was to greet the fairies.  Here C is with Videa.

Tink and Tink!!

Sorry it's blurry but you can the room where the transformation into a pirate was happening.

Will has explained to me in great detail how the lady did his make-up so I can recreate it for halloween!

Start of Caroline's transformation into Tink.

My sweet fairy and scruffy pirate!!

Odds and Ends

I've been a little busy since getting back from visiting with Susan, Graham, and Ryan for a week.  I had so much fun helping Susan and was glad for the opportunity!  Thanks to Justin for managing the house while I was gone, he did fantastic!  The weather this March is already 10 times better than it was last year.  Not sure why Justin just gets to shovel 2 times (so far) and last year it seemed like it was twice a week that I had to shovel!  It is going to be in the 70's some this week and this weekend so I LOVE it!!  But I have my doubts that it will stay this nice and there won't be at least one more snow storm.  We haven't had any thing over 4 inches this winter!
This weekend we took full advantage of the warmer weather and went to the park to play and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside.  Well, the kids did.  Justin and I have started organizing/cleaning areas of the house to prep for our move this summer.  We got the garage taken care of Sunday and filled an entire trash can full of garbage!  We are planning to have a yard sale for the first time ever and have started getting things set aside for it already.  We really don't have that much longer until the packers come (about 14 weeks) so it is time to get busy.  14 weeks might not sound like a short amount of time to some of you but if you add spring break weekends, Easter weekend, regular goings on during the week, and just life then there isn't much time at all to get ready to leave MI!
For those of you who don't know we will be moving in July to Fort Leavenworth, KS for a year so Justin can go to major school.  We have heard wonderful things about the place and are excited to go.  (For the most part.  I'm terrified of tornados!)  So if you want to see anything around the Detroit area, which there are some very nice things, then come on up!  If not please come visit us in KS!
Buddies walking to the park!  Caroline has gotten really tall!
Yesterday Eric went for his 15 month check up even though he is now 16 months old!  He is doing great.  He is 22 lbs 14 oz (19%) and 31.5 inches tall (44%) so on the smaller side but he eats like a horse and doesn't stop moving!  He is speaking more and more words everyday and said "Will" for the first time this week!  Will was beyond excited since he hasn't said Caroline or sissy yet.  It is a very clear weehiiilll.  Justin has an audio recording of him from the other night saying Will's name.  I'm going to try and load it but not sure how at this point.
Eric is still fascinated with trucks, buses, and planes.  He loves to read books and be outside.  He gets very jealous if the dog sits in my lap and loves to tackle his brother and sister.  All the neighborhood kids love to have him outside when they come over and he enjoys being the center of attention!
Some of the words he can now say are: momma, daddy, Will, no, more, airplane, school, go, apple, up, shoe, all kinds of animal sounds, and cookie (his favorite).  That's all I can think of right now.

Caroline is doing very well at school and is knee deep in learning her multiplication facts up to the 12's!  She is one of the best in her gymnastics class and has already told us she wants to continue gymnastics when we move.
Will is also doing very well in school and is becoming quite the reader!  He is signed up for t-ball and that starts in may.  He will miss half the season but that's what happens when you move in the summer time.  He is excited to go to KS so he can play football in the fall!!

Confidence

Last night we went to parent teacher conferences for the kids.  They are doing very well!  Will's teacher told us that even though he is one of the youngest in his class he is still the leader and one the other kids look to!  She also told us that he handed her a piece of paper with his name on it and said, "you might want to keep this cause one day I'm gonna be a famous football player."  That boy!!  Ms. Lisa said she was going to keep it because she doesn't doubt that he will be famous one day!
And Caroline's teacher doesn't want us to move.  She has already told us Caroline can stay with her for next year!  Caroline has had the same teacher since Kindergarden and would have had her for one more year since it is a 1-3 classroom.  Which is great and will be an adjustment for her next year!

Sous chefs

These two were my wonderful helpers tonight! Dinner isn't ready yet so not sure how good it will be but the help was great! Will also cut up the watermelon and Caroline set the table.
