Like Halloween

The annual post-wide yard sale was Saturday. Actually people were coming Friday night! As we were coming in the gate after horseback riding at ten till 5 it was already backed up! Caroline had 2 friends spend the night and Justin had class Friday night and all day Saturday. So it was 5 kids and me to man the yard sale. Fun times! The traffic was terrible and it was a steady stream of people. I actually spoke with some of the people that stopped by and some of them had been coming for 15 years! It's a big deal and people come from all over to check it out! We did pretty well and almost got rid of all the things we put out there.

Friday morning Eric and I went on a little field trip with the third graders. They are studying habitats so we drove across the post to study a forest habitat and a creek habitat. Eric's favorite part was riding the school bus! Caroline loved having us there!

Books and Bears

My kids LOVE books and reading!  It warms my heart when Caroline curls up in the lazy boy and reads and reads.  The Berenstain Bears are still big favorites around here and they happened to be doing a live musical show on post last Saturday.  I took the kids since Justin was in class.  It lasted an hour and was perfect for the kids.  They really enjoyed it.
All cuddled up for FaceTiming!

The set for the show.

They also gave each family a free book and the bears did book signing after the show.  Caroline is taking with Brother and Sister.

Gramps, Gran, Papa, Mama, Sister, and Brother near were all there.

Thanks Mimi and Granddady for our Barnes and Noble gift cars!  We love our new books!!
Caroline's new favorite series is Geronimo Stilton.  They are mysteries (which she loves) and written with fun colors and fonts to keep it interesting.
I like how it has the "What do you think" box with the clues so far and questions to make her think about what she is reading and how the story is going.

Snow in April

Yesterday the weather wasn't so bad and Eric and I got out and walked the dog and played at the playground some before the rain came.  But today was a different story.  There was a time this morning that the temps were below freezing!  YUCK!!
Cheese!

He loves to jump off things.

Caroline had her first soccer game yesterday evening too.  And boy did she do fantastic!!  Justin and I were so incredibly proud of her!  I had to convince her to play and during practice she didn't look like she was having an enjoyable time.  To her credit she hasn't asked to quit and she was elated when her suggestion for the team name was voted as the name!  Her team is the Highlighters!!  It was raining at game time and Caroline was pretty excited.  She played so well!  She had an assist and a shot on goal.  She got so excited after a great play she did that she ran off the field, gave Justin a hug, and ran back on!!  She mixed it up with the others on the team and didn't seem bothered by the contact.  Her coach even made the comment to me that she can run.  She doesn't show that off at practice!!
Her team after the wet game!

I had to go to the post office and this it when it was a sleet/ snow mix.

The mess accumulated a little.

Some videos

This is a video I tried to post with the silly stuff.  Caroline listens to a lot of Taylor Swift music and it has rubbed off on her littlest brother!
I'm finally getting around to posting some of our videos from our spring break trip.

Silliness

Sometimes it gets a little silly around here.  Ok, who am I foolin, it's silly around here most of the time!!
Dancing the "gangnam style".  And don't you dance with no pants on?!

Miles even got in on the dancing!!

This was not "purple up" day to support military children day.  Just an ordinary school day with 3 different shades of purple on!!

The cat decided to join Eric in the chair.

Watching a squirrel eating in the tree.  It was a little windy!

Our Weekend

Friday night Justin and I went to the Sustainment Formal.  We had a new babysitter come and the kids loved her!  The great news about Meg is that her family is moving to HI this summer too!!  Her dad is a Methodist chaplain that is going to Fort Shafter.  We are excited to already have a babysitter when we move!
I did a low-side-braided-twisty-bun-thingy to go with my dress!

Love a man in uniform!!  Oh and the dress was my senior high prom dress!
Saturday morning I took the kids to a children's fest on post.  Justin had homework to do so we got out of the house so it would be quiet for him to work.  April is month of the Military Child and there are lots of events and things going on for the kids.
Minney Mouse was there!

There were lots of sports games to play.

The Hamburglar and the Wizard of Oz were there too.

Spidey!

Eric loved the bounce houses!

They handed out apples and Fiber One protein bars instead of candy at the games.

The longest line was for the face painting.

Butterflies

The kids had a blast and Justin got a lot of his homework done!  Caroline even had a friend spend the night and we had Chick-fil-a for dinner.

Pacifier

So the Easter Bunny took Eric's paci's away and he is still not over it!!  Besides being sick last week he was having paci withdrawal.  And it was BAD!  He would cry and scream for paci for 1.5 hours before falling asleep almost every day last week.  Saturday nap he finally went to sleep about 15 minutes after I left the room.  Success!  Night time he will wake several times and not have his paci to sooth himself back to sleep so he gets really mad and is awake several times.  Last night he slept through the night!!  He still asked for his paci today so it is still a work in progress.  The Easter Bunny did have a little mishap though.  Easter Sunday Eric got really quiet for his nap and I was thinking it wasn't going to be so bad.  But when Justin went upstairs to get him when he woke up Eric had a paci!  Eric proceeded to tell Justin that he talked to the EB and he told him that he could have the blue one!!  I was downstairs listening over the monitor and was cracking up!!  That kid is funny.  The blue one didn't get to stay.

When Eric was sick.

Feeling better by playing with the kitty!

Easter

Easter snuck up on me this year.  I didn't get new outfits for the kids or make any fun crafts or plan much of anything.  But the day was wonderful!!  The kids got up and went searching for their baskets.  Then Justin made pancakes and we were almost late for church.  After church we came home, had lunch, took naps, and I made rice crispies treats, deviled eggs, and cranberry shortbread bars to take to a friends house.  We were invited to a friend from church's house for an egg hunt and dinner.  It was a great afternoon!
Caroline was the oldest of the 11 kids at the party.

Going through their baskets!

Looking for eggs!

The easter bunny found these awesome peanut butter cups that are vegan which means WIll can eat them!!  Caroline's favorite candy is Reece's peanut butter cups and when Will tried his he said, "now I know why you like them so much Caroline, they are GOOOOD!"

Hunting eggs.  Things haven't turned green around here yet.

Little kids inside the fence, big kids hunted outside the fence.
What a great afternoon!  Happy Easter everyone!!

What's going on?

Lots and it leaves me wiped by the end of the day.  And even though I got my computer back on Saturday I haven't been doing much with it!  Caroline started soccer practice this week, M/W 5-6, and Will started baseball, T/Th 430-530.  Justin only has class Monday evenings (and the occasional Friday night/ all day Saturday) so that helps make things MUCH easier!
Justin got his official orders yesterday(Monday) so that also makes things kick into high gear.  Now we get to schedule the movers, sign up for housing in HI (which we have heard could be up to a 90 day wait!), make reservations for temporary housing, make plans for shipping a vehicle

Aaaaannnd I'm back and it's 2 days later!!  Eric had a fever Monday, Tuesday, and then threw up Wednesday around lunch time.  He and I took a 2 hour nap wednesday morning and then went to the post office and the commissary, came home for lunch and then it happened.  We took another almost 2 hour nap Wednesday afternoon.  Then the kids got home from school and the first thing Will says when he walks through the door is that his stomach hurts!  He ends up puking right after getting home from picking up Thai for dinner.  Caroline and Justin got home from soccer right as I finished cleaning up the floor.  Will ate dinner and kept it down then got in our bed and went straight to sleep.  He has been home today with his stomach hurting off and on and a fever but no more throwing up.  Eric has been back to his usual shenanigans.  I'm expecting Caroline to walk in from school this afternoon with her stomach hurting.  We'll see!

It's now Friday night and it has been quite the week.  I just ate an entire dark chocolate bar.  It was good!  Caroline is still feeling good.  Justin has class all day tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be wonderful so we will enjoy being outside.

I have Easter pictures and some videos to share and hope to get to those soon.
