Happy Halloween

Right now the kids are out trick-or-treating with Justin, granddaddy, and Uncle Paul. I'm sitting on my front steps( wearing a tank top, shirts, and flip flops!) handing out pretzels.
The kids have been super excited ( maybe because of the sugar high they are having. The treats started after breakfast!) all day and watching the clock for 6pm to get here.
Caroline is a Dancing With The Stars champ, Will is a ghost, Eric is hulk smash, Justin a big chicken, dad an egg, and Uncle Paul is the farmer!  I'm sure they are out having fun!

Birthday girl!

Caroline turned 9 yesterday!!  She had a great day and enjoyed all her calls and birthday wishes.

I can't believe she is 9!  What a beautiful, thoughtful, caring, funny, brave, kind girl you are my darling!  We love you sweet Caroline!

Playgrounds

What kid doesn't love a playground?  There is a new one that opened right beside Eric's pretty school ( yes, he still calls it that!). So Thursday the bigs and I went a little early so they could play before picking up Eric. There are some cool things on this playground.

Pumpkin patch time

Today Will and I joined Eric and his preschool on a trip to the Aloun Farms pumpkin patch.  Eric rode the bus there with his classmates.  I was shocked me that he rode on that bus without me!
Waiting for the tractor to take us to the field.

Looking out over the fields.  If you zoom in on this picture you can see the high-rises of Honolulu and Diamond head!

My boys on the hay ride.

Beautiful sunflowers with some mountains in the back ground.

It was a beautiful morning with temps in the 80's.

It was fun to go to a Hawaiian pumpkin patch!

Our week

Another busy fun filled week has past and October is more than half over!!
We got a stand up paddle board!  It is so much fun and makes a great addition to the decor in our dining room.

The playground across the street from us was moved to the house behind us.  The kids were big helpers.

It was a neighborhood effort to move the thing.  Wires had to be lifted as 4 of us carried it under.

What does Eric do while I cook dinner?  Lots of things, mainly play with cars or balls, but that day it was mini clothes pins on a little basket!

Then he got to use a real mommy knife and cut Daddy's strawberries another day.

And a little pre-breakfast wrestle time never hurt anyone!  eric was the one that had Will in a head lock.

Twice I went down to Hickam AFB to sign up for a surfing class and a spear fishing class.  The view is so cool at the outdoor rec. center.  A view of Diamond head to one side...

And turquoise water to the other!

Then the other time went to Hickam we went to dog beach.  Miles had a great time running around on the empty beach.

Eric loved watching the tug pulling the barge and all the airplanes coming into land at the  Honolulu airport.

Eric decided to go join Will in his chair to finish his lunch.

I love the look Eric is giving Will!!

Saturday was Songfest.  A girl Scout event.  We joined the other troops from our service unit to sit around and sing songs.  It was every bit as fun as you are thinking.  I took some tylenol before going.

Will and I made a garden at the beginning of October.  Things are starting to grow too.  It's hard to believe  that I planted a garden in OCTOBER!  We planted okra, squash, carrots, limas, peas, and green beans.  i did not inherit granddaddy Crissman's green thumb so we shall see if the growing trend continues!!

Ending the week with some Miles cuddles is always fantastic!

27 photos

There are lots of pictures in this post.  It's hard to narrow them down when there are so many good ones!!  These are from 2 Sundays ago when we went up to the north shore to have a picnic dinner.
The wind farm on the north shore.

Watching  the kite surfers.

A rainbow and a beach to ourselves!

Caroline and I made a sand turtle and as soon as we were done Miles laid on it!

Quesadillas and brownies make for a great beach food!
