Our week

Another busy fun filled week has past and October is more than half over!!
We got a stand up paddle board!  It is so much fun and makes a great addition to the decor in our dining room.

The playground across the street from us was moved to the house behind us.  The kids were big helpers.

It was a neighborhood effort to move the thing.  Wires had to be lifted as 4 of us carried it under.

What does Eric do while I cook dinner?  Lots of things, mainly play with cars or balls, but that day it was mini clothes pins on a little basket!

Then he got to use a real mommy knife and cut Daddy's strawberries another day.

And a little pre-breakfast wrestle time never hurt anyone!  eric was the one that had Will in a head lock.

Twice I went down to Hickam AFB to sign up for a surfing class and a spear fishing class.  The view is so cool at the outdoor rec. center.  A view of Diamond head to one side...

And turquoise water to the other!

Then the other time went to Hickam we went to dog beach.  Miles had a great time running around on the empty beach.

Eric loved watching the tug pulling the barge and all the airplanes coming into land at the  Honolulu airport.

Eric decided to go join Will in his chair to finish his lunch.

I love the look Eric is giving Will!!

Saturday was Songfest.  A girl Scout event.  We joined the other troops from our service unit to sit around and sing songs.  It was every bit as fun as you are thinking.  I took some tylenol before going.

Will and I made a garden at the beginning of October.  Things are starting to grow too.  It's hard to believe  that I planted a garden in OCTOBER!  We planted okra, squash, carrots, limas, peas, and green beans.  i did not inherit granddaddy Crissman's green thumb so we shall see if the growing trend continues!!

Ending the week with some Miles cuddles is always fantastic!

27 photos

There are lots of pictures in this post.  It's hard to narrow them down when there are so many good ones!!  These are from 2 Sundays ago when we went up to the north shore to have a picnic dinner.
The wind farm on the north shore.

Watching  the kite surfers.

A rainbow and a beach to ourselves!

Caroline and I made a sand turtle and as soon as we were done Miles laid on it!

Quesadillas and brownies make for a great beach food!

Flying by

Time is flying by!  Every week I get to Thursday and think wait, it's Thursday already, where'd this week go.  I miss the trash pick up most weeks because of this time flying thing.  It has been 3 months since we moved and Justin asked the kids what their favorite part of our new place is and Will says playing with friends.  Caroline answered swim team!

Last night after Caroline and Justin got home from the swim meet we went to a party with some of Justin's coworkers.  They had a pool and hot tub and the kids had fun playing.
Zebras are tasty!
The ears are even better!
Another thing keeping me busy besides swim team, football, and daily life with 3 kids is Girl Scouts.  I am a co leader for Caroline's Junior troop.  We had our first girl meeting Friday afternoon at my house since I will have the boys with me it is easier to have them here.
The girls were making their sit-upons.  We had a really great time and I'm looking forward to a great year of fun things.

This was the pool at the party last night.  pretty cool!  Caroline is on the far left and Will up in the bushes.

Eric "washing" his hair after swimming.

By 10 am I had made 2 loaves of bread, biscuits for breakfast, and homemade bagels to freeze.  The kids were busy playing legos that morning and all was good.

Finally decorated for fall.  It doesn't feel or look like fall so it was hard to remember that it's almost mid-October!

We have also had many tent building days this week.  The kids are on fall break until Wednesday.

My swimmer

Caroline had her fisrt swim meet yesterday.  Justin took her and I stayed home with the boys.
That's my girl!

She swam 4 events, 25M for each of butterfly, back, breast, and free.

Cool meetmobile app!  Lets you see results.  She disqualified on the back stroke and breast stroke.  She had so much fun and really enjoyed it!  Go Caroline!!!

Rainbows

Rainbows are an almost daily occurrence around here!  So neat to see how bright they can be and how long they last. One day Caroline and I saw a complete rainbow with an almost complete second one above it. The cool part was we almost got to drive through the end of it!! When we stopped at the stoplight it was just on the other side of the street. It was the neatest thing!  Rainbows don't get old either!  My kids all holler out, "there's a rainbow!" ( loudly) whenever they see one!
I mean there are rainbows on the license plates and the football team is the rainbow warriors.
